Zero Emission Natural Gas (ZENG) Worsham-Steed Fact Sheet: Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage Project*
* Note: There has been no news on this project since 2007

Location: Worsham-Steed, Texas, USA

Feedstock: Natural Gas

Size: 70 MW

Capture Technology: Oxy fuel combustion

CO2 Fate: EOR at the Worsham-Steed field for an additional 5-10 million barrels

Timing: Original timing: Technology development, process design and engineering (2007-2009)

Motivation/Economics: Each module will cost $90-$120 million and will produce zero emission power at 48% efficiency. The CO2 production will be at around 870 tons per day. Negotiations have started to sell the power in the Electricity Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) North Zone.

Comments: This 70 MW ZENG power module will be used to advance subsequent implementation of larger and higher efficiency 200+ MW ZENG plant in a 2010-2012 time frame, but many other projects are being considered.
