Comments:
In June 2013 the Indiana Supreme Court rescinded its agreement to purchase the SNG, putting this project in jeopardy.
The Indiana Legislature passed a law in 2009 authorizing the Indiana Finance Authority (IFA) to purchase SNG from a coal gasification project. After over 18 months of negotiation, a contract was executed between IFA and Indiana Gasification in January, 2011. The Indiana Department of Environmental Managementissued a final air permit for the project on June 27, 2012. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management issued a final water permit for the project on August 22, 2012.
In November 2009, the Department of Energy announced that Indiana Gasification was a candidate for a loan guarantee.
