Abstract:
The purpose of this report is to give a brief overview and assessment of carbon sequestration by mineral carbonation (also referred to as “mineral sequestration”). The assessment is to highlight areas that need development in order for this technology to become commercial, not to do an in-depth, independent analysis of the technology. To accomplish this goal, articles from the literature were reviewed, key researchers were interviewed, and the resulting draft was then reviewed by one of the technology’s proponents.
