From the Massachusetts Turnpike : Exit at "Brighton/Cambridge". Follow signs to Cambridge. The Doubletree Hotel will be on your right. Go straight over the bridge into Cambridge (on River Street) and take your first right onto Memorial Drive. The Charles River will be on your right. Go straight on Memorial Drive, staying to the center of the road and traveling over the overpass at the Boston University (B.U.) Bridge (past MicroCenter). Pass under the next bridge, which is the Massachusetts Avenue Bridge. Take the second left (sign says Kendall Square) onto Wadsworth Streetr. Take the first left onto Amherst Street. On Amherst Street, LFEE is located in the first building on your right - 1 Amherst Street, MIT Building E40 - the Muckley Building on the 4th floor. It is a large red brick building.
From Logan Airport : Take the Sumner Tunnel--stay to the left and go up the ramp onto the Expressway (Route 3/Route 93 North). Take the 2nd exit, "Storrow Drive" and stay in the left lane. Take the first ramp on the left "All Trucks, Government Center," then the first right over the Longfellow Bridge into Cambridge. In Cambridge, this road will become Broadway. At the second light (the Marriott Hotel will be on your left), turn left onto Ames Street. Proceed straight through the traffic light , take your next left unto Amherst Street. LFEE is the last building on the left side of the street - 1 Amherst Street, MIT Building E40 - the Muckley Building. It is a large red brick building. LFEE is located on the 4th floor.
Logan International Airport information
From Route I-93 : From I-93, take exit 26, and follow the signs to Back Bay along Storrow Drive West, approximately 1.5 miles, to the exit for Route 2A. The exit will be on the left, just before the Harvard Bridge (more appropriately called the Massachusetts Avenue Bridge). The Charles River will be on your right. As you cross the bridge, you will be looking at MIT. At the end of the bridge, turn right (on to Memorial Drive). The first street after that bridge, to the left, is Ames Street--but it is one way in the wrong direction. You will have to take the second left (sign says Kendall Square) onto Wadsworth St. Take the first left onto Amherst Street. By Subway : Please check the subway map at your boarding point. You want to take the Red Line to the "Kendall/MIT" stop. You can transfer without additional fees from any other subway line at the appropriate subway station. (Red/Green is at Park Station, Red/Orange is at Downtown Crossing, etc.). At the Kendall/MIT stop, you will surface at Main Street in Kendall Square. Landmarks include Au Bon Pain, the Marriott Hotel, the MIT Coop and MIT Press Bookstore (across Main Street from the others), and Legal Seafoods Restaurant (at the west end of the block). Facing Main Street, with the Marriott and the MIT Coop to your back, proceed left (east) towards Au Bon Pain and Rebecca's Cafe. At that corner, Hayward Street, turn right. Walk to the end of the block. You will see a red brick building with a ramp - proceed up the ramp and take the elevator to the 4th floor; LFEE is located on the 4th floor of this building. The official entrance being around the corner from ramp at 1 Amherst Street.
Boston Public Transporation information
Parking: There are rarely any on-street parking spaces on the MIT campus. The only garage that is convenient to LFEE is the Marriott Hotel garage. The entrance to this is on Ames Street, between Main and Broadway.
